Michael J. McCabe

Michael J. McCabe, shareholder of McCabe & Vaughn, P.A., practices in the areas of construction, real estate, community association, eminent domain, land use, and government. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University. He received his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law.

Mr. McCabe has extensive experience in a wide variety of construction and development matters. He has represented condominiums, co-ops, and homeowner's associations in actions to enforce their rules against, and collect assessments from, uncooperative owners. He has acted as both an advisor and advocate in zealously representing construction professionals on contract negotiations and dispute resolution. His eminent domain, environmental, and land use practice includes the filing of applications and the organization, preparation, and presentation of disputed matters. He has represented clients before municipalities and county zoning authorities as well as state and local government agencies.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. McCabe worked as a civil engineer for seven years as an aviation, transportation and structural engineer. His experience in construction management includes scheduling, estimating, contract negations, contract agreements, performance bonds, utility agreements, right-of-way acquisition, and project management.

Eric S. Vaughn

Eric S. Vaughn, shareholder of McCabe & Vaughn, P.A., received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University. He received his law degree from Stetson University School of Law, which he earned concurrently with his Master of Business Administration. He is a member of both the Florida Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Mr. Vaughn practices in the areas of construction, business, commercial and residential real estate, and land use. He has extensive experience in both vertical and horizontal construction. He is experienced in representing developers, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers in construction contract negotiations and dispute resolution. His practice includes the purchase and sale of residential and commercial real property, as well as evictions and foreclosures. Mr. Vaughn is fortunate enough to have worked on both sides of the civil litigation process, gaining valuable experience representing clients from the Plaintiff’s side and Defendant’s side.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Vaughn worked in construction industry as a Project Manager, gaining experience in construction management, including scheduling, estimating, building codes, contract negations, contract agreements, performance bonds, and project management.

T J Roache

T J Roache, an Associate Attorney of McCabe & Vaughn, P.A., received his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Communication degree from The Florida State University. He is a member of both the Florida Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Mr. Roache has worked in-house for a major design-build contractor where he gained experience in risk management consulting, mechanics’ lien litigation and construction contract negotiation and drafting. At McCabe & Vaughn, Mr. Roache has expanded his practice areas to include commercial and residential real estate, community association law and business law.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Roache worked as an Account Executive for Husk Jennings Advertising.

Geoffrey B. Dobson

Geoffrey B. Dobson is of counsel to the firm, specializing in the areas of municipal law; commercial, construction litigation, labor law, and environmental law. Mr. Dobson born Lynbrook, New York, October 16, 1938; admitted to bar, 1964, Florida; 1965, Georgia, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida; 1970, U.S. District Court, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; 1973, U.S. Court of Appeals Eight Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court; 1981, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; 1984, U.S. Tax Court.
